We are part of Q-PLANET (Quantum Pilot Line for production of Advanced chips for Neutral atom European Technologies), one of six consortia selected by the European Commission to develop European quantum chips under the European Chips Act (CeNT UW announcement). The project held its kick-off meeting in Brussels in July.

Coordinated by Pasqal and funded by Horizon Europe through the Chips Joint Undertaking, Q-PLANET brings together 28 partners from 11 EU countries to build Europe’s first industrial pilot line for neutral-atom quantum technologies: lasers, atom chips and microfabricated vapour cells for quantum computing, sensing and communication. The project runs from May 2026 to April 2029 with a budget of €50 million (Quantum Zeitgeist).

Our lab will build a test platform to evaluate the new components in atomic sensors, in particular those based on Rydberg atoms.
