Our paper on atomic-optical interferometry in fractured loops gives a general solution for Rydberg radio-frequency receivers (Phys. Rev. A 111, 053718).

Interfering excitation paths make Rydberg receivers phase-sensitive, but in such “fractured loops” the atoms never reach a steady state. Our method models them and predicts practical parameters such as the receiving bandwidth and saturation point.
